On behalf of our partner – a growing international company with global IT operations – we are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Linux Server Administrator with French.

The role requires relocation to Sofia, Bulgaria, with all relocation costs fully covered by the employer.

Own critical Linux server operations

The Senior Linux Server Administrator with French will provide technical expertise in server administration, performance tuning, and maintaining high-availability standards across supported environments.

The role involves working independently or in teams to investigate alerts and incidents, identify root causes, and develop solutions aligned with customer business needs.

Tickets are automatically generated by monitoring tools and notification systems. You will be responsible for analyzing issues, taking quick action on high-priority cases, and escalating to next-level support teams when required.

No end-user calls are expected. Communication is primarily with client IT representatives and internal or external resolution teams via telephone and e-mail.

Key responsibilities

What you will do

Linux Administration & Monitoring

  • Perform Linux server administration activities such as server restarts, service checks and restarts
  • Check syslogs and monitor system resource usage including CPU, filesystem, and RAM
  • Process alerts in the Linux server area and define exceptions
  • Ensure tickets generated by monitoring tools are properly investigated, resolved, or dispatched
  • Handle more complex tickets within the defined scope of responsibilities
  • Follow best practice ticket management processes and service level targets

Infrastructure, Troubleshooting & Coordination

  • Work with Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat or similar Linux distributions
  • Develop shell scripts for evaluation and automation tasks
  • Manage systems through virtualization technologies
  • Identify and narrow down network issues involving OS, databases, and middleware
  • Coordinate with security departments and external resolution groups
  • Support hardware failure diagnosis and coordinate with hardware and data centre teams
  • Handle e-mail based service requests and ensure documentation standards are followed

Requirements

Who we are looking for

Core profile

  • B2 level of written and verbal French
  • B1 level of written and verbal English
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Team player with ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and investigative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to proactively learn new technologies and processes
  • Ability to research and resolve unfamiliar technical situations

Technical expertise

  • Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat or similar
  • Shell scripting
  • System configuration
  • Virtualization software: KVM, Hypervisor, LXC, or similar
  • Database knowledge: MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle
  • Resource management, load balancing, and system performance optimization

Education

Additional background

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field would be considered an advantage.
