About the company

An international manufacturer in the automotive industry

Our client is an international manufacturer of high-precision metal stampings and assembled components for the automotive industry. Due to the growing volume of operations in Bulgaria, the company is looking for an experienced professional to join their team as Supply Chain Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to take ownership of planning, procurement, logistics and inventory functions within a well-established automotive manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

Planning & Procurement

Supply Chain Planning

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Manage demand forecasting and supply planning
  • Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing and procurement teams
  • Ensure uninterrupted material flow to support production

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Develop supplier improvement initiatives
  • Mitigate supply risks through contingency planning

Inventory, Logistics & Production

Inventory Management

  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining required service levels
  • Monitor inventory turnover and reduce excess or obsolete stock
  • Coordinate inventory control policies and cycle counting programs

Production Coordination

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams
  • Ensure material availability for production schedules
  • Resolve production shortages and supply disruptions

Logistics & Distribution

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations
  • Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities
  • Ensure on-time delivery to manufacturing plants and customers
  • Optimize freight costs and logistics efficiency

Cost, Compliance & Reporting

Cost Management

  • Identify opportunities for supply chain cost reduction
  • Monitor logistics and inventory costs
  • Drive lean initiatives to improve operational efficiency

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Develop business continuity and risk mitigation plans

Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor key supply chain KPIs
  • Prepare management reports and dashboards
  • Analyze supply chain performance using ERP

Requirements

Who we are looking for

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Master’s degree (MBA/Supply Chain) preferred
  • English language proficiency
  • 8–15 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations
  • At least 3–5 years in a managerial position
  • Experience with Tier 1, Tier 2 suppliers, OEMs, or automotive manufacturing is preferred

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Supply chain planning and Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • ERP systems (SAP is an advantage) and advanced Excel
  • Inventory optimization and demand forecasting
  • Lean manufacturing and logistics management
  • Supplier relationship management (SRM) and risk management
  • Leadership, strategic thinking, and strong negotiation skills
  • Cross-functional collaboration and decision-making under pressure
