Global leader in the alternative energy sector

Our client is a global leader in the alternative energy sector, implementing modern technologies and innovative solutions across a growing portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects including PV, BESS, and hybrid assets.

The company is currently seeking an experienced Commercial & Contracting O&M Manager to ensure continuity between EPC delivery and long-term O&M obligations, safeguarding contractual positions, margins, and risk exposure throughout the full asset lifecycle.

About the role

Commercial & Contracting O&M Manager

The Commercial & Contracting O&M Manager is responsible for the commercial, contractual, and claims-related aspects of O&M activities. The role bridges EPC delivery and long-term operational obligations, managing back-to-back structures, warranties, availability regimes, and performance guarantees across clients, subcontractors, and OEMs.

Key responsibilities

What you will do

EPC-to-O&M Commercial Management

  • Lead preparation of bids, cost calculations, tender documents, and commercial proposals for O&M services
  • Own the commercial performance of O&M contracts originating from EPC-delivered projects
  • Ensure alignment between EPC contractual commitments and long-term O&M obligations
  • Track O&M costs, margins, penalties, and incentives against project assumptions
  • Support pricing, scope definition, and risk allocation during EPC tendering and handover
  • Identify opportunities to improve lifecycle profitability and reduce post-COD exposure

Contract Administration & Back-to-Back Management

  • Lead preparation of O&M contracts in collaboration with the legal department
  • Manage annexes, lead client meetings, and negotiate terms and conditions
  • Administer O&M, LTSA, and service agreements with subcontractors and OEMs
  • Ensure strict back-to-back alignment between client contracts and supplier agreements
  • Manage availability guarantees, response times, performance ratios, and LD regimes
  • Lead contract amendments, extensions, and renegotiations
  • Maintain contract registers, correspondence, and formal change management

Claims, Warranties & Defect Management

  • Lead commercial claims related to underperformance, defects, delays, and outages
  • Manage warranty claims with OEMs (modules, inverters, BESS, transformers, SCADA)
  • Translate technical issues into contractual entitlement and coordinate cost recovery
  • Support dispute resolution processes in cooperation with legal teams

Operational Interface & Performance Enforcement

  • Act as the commercial interface between EPC, O&M, and technical teams
  • Translate operational KPIs into contractual and financial consequences
  • Monitor availability, outage categorization, and force majeure classifications
  • Support EPC final acceptance, PAC/FAC, and warranty period transitions
  • Ensure correct commercial setup during site mobilization and demobilization

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Identify contractual and commercial risks during O&M execution and mitigate exposure
  • Ensure compliance with internal approval processes and project governance
  • Support audits, lender requirements, and contractual compliance reviews
  • Contribute to standardization of EPC and O&M commercial frameworks across the group

Stakeholder & Internal Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with EPC project managers, asset management, legal, and finance teams
  • Act as commercial counterpart to clients, investors, and service providers
  • Support knowledge transfer and lessons learned from O&M back into EPC execution
