About the company:

JYSK is an ambitious fast-growing Danish Retail company with a solid financial background that values dedicated hard work. We have 46 stores in Bulgaria and are planning to open more in the coming years.

You will be located in their head office in Bozhurishte, Sofia.  You will coordinate the accounting team and oversee the daily and monthly activity, making sure that the company complies with local accounting and fiscal regulations.
As Chief Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Manager for Romania & Bulgaria.

What can you expect to be doing?

  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries
  • Timely and accurate booking of all accounting documents
  • Accurate calculation of taxes (e.g. VAT, CIT, property taxes) and timely settlements with the tax office
  • Ensure the preparation and submission in an accurate and timely manner of all local financial, non-financial, statistical and tax reports
  • Recruiting and motivating the accounting team members; ensuring a continuous development of personnel, by following up every day on a personal and professional level
  • Ensuring that all team members know what to do and do it accurately and on time, setting tasks and deadlines in order to achieve the company goals
  • Develop and implement accounting and administrative procedures following group procedures as well as local legislation
  • Communicate with external parties such as banks, auditors, tax authorities, suppliers
  • Participation in various projects

Therefore we seek a person having the following qualifications:

  • Experience in the position of Chief Accountant or deputy chief accountant for min. 3 years in a multinational company; managing a team will be considered an advantage
  • Experience in full annual reporting preparation (accounting and tax)
  • Knowledge of local reporting standards and tax code
  • Fluent English language skills, spoken as well as written
  • Ability to work with many deadlines and being very structured
  • Ability to motivate people in order to get results
  • Have a sense of responsibility and good communication skills.
  • Capable of being effective due to a personal sense of structure and quality.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Friendly and “customer first” attitude
  • Experience with SAP is considered an advantage​​​​​​
